Wilkes-Barre Farmer's Market
Market Square, Wilkes-Barre
Thursdays, Jun to Nov 2010
10:15 AM to 2:15 PM

Generation to Generation is extremely excited to provide the opportunity to enrich lives through intergenerational sharing with a continuing program for summer 2010. Using the wonderful Farmers' Market in downtown Wilkes-Barre as a platform, young volunteers will assist seniors with purchasing and hauling locally grown produce and home made baked goods. Through this project, seniors of the area will be able to visit the Farmers' Market assured of available helping hands.

Young volunteers will learn of the richness and wisdom of seniors. Volunteers from various organizations such as the NEPA American Red Cross Youth Council, Volunteers @ W-B Farmer's MarketBoy Scouts, Wilkes-Barre Area School District, Friendship House, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Wilkes University, Kings College, and Misericordia University will be available to help. The program is in operation every Thursday from 10:15 in the morning until 2:15 in the afternoon beginning on the Farmers' Market Opening Day, June 24, until mid November. We are honored to have worked with the City of Wilkes-Barre City Hall and hope for great success in uniting our senior and young populations.
